FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - After we saw record warm temperatures last week, Mother Nature is looking to repeat this story this week. While we won't reach the 80s like last week, it will still be warm enough to break records here in early November. You can click below for the latest high and low temperature numbers for Monday and Tuesday. Above average warmth now, cooler later this week Two highest low temperature records and one high temperature record look to be in jeopardy this week. First, our highest low temperature Monday of 58° could be eclipsed should we continue to stay in the 60s Monday evening. We also have a good chance to set our record high temperature for Tuesday, which is 73° set back in 2015, 2008, and 1978. We are currently forecasting a high of 75°. Should we stay above 57° then before midnight Tuesday night, we'll set another highest low temperature record. We could also see our warmest Election Day ever in Fort Wayne's history. Here are the warm temperature records in jeopardy this week. In November, we typically only see one day with highs in the 70s, with records dating back to 1897 in Fort Wayne. Our record number of November 70s is eight, which was set back in 1964. Last year, we saw no November days in the 70s. The last time we saw two or more November 70 degree days was two years ago, when we saw a total of five of them. We anticipate both Monday and Tuesday this week to see highs in the 70s. We usually only see one November day in the 70s each year. Our highest ever November temperature is 79°…that's right, it has never been in the 80s in November. This happened on November 1st in 2016 and in 1950. Only eight days in recorded history though have seen high temperatures at 75° or higher after November 4th, which may happen this year. Our most recent time this happened was when we got up to 76° on November 10th, 2020. The warmest temperature we have ever seen after November 4th is 78°, which happened in 2020 and 1975. Temperatures up at 75° or greater after November 4th are rare in Fort Wayne. Stay cool as you're heading out to vote on Tuesday! We'll be tracking cooler, but still above average days through the rest of the week. Visit our WANE 15 Weather Page to learn more.
