Photo by Kerri Phox/The Atlanta VoiceElection Day is just one day away and the Harris-Walz and Trump-Vance campaigns are spending some of their final moments on the campaign trail in metro Atlanta as part of their final appeals to voters.While former United States President Donald Trump and his running mate Ohio Senator J.D. Vance were in Cobb County rallying support, a Get Out The Vote (GOTV) for United States Vice President Kamala Harris and running mate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz took place inside the Park Tavern at Piedmont Park. Atlanta radio personality Frank Ski (above) was working the 1’s and 2’s at the GOTV event Monday night. Dwight Holt, Jr., wearing a black “Madame Pres.” t-shirt and an Atlanta Braves cap, said he was looking forward to Election Day and the aftermath. “I expect America to truly be made great again tomorrow,” said Holt, Jr., who told The Atlanta Voice he was one of the millions of Georgians who cast ballots during the early voting period. “My expectations are to leave here with a win.” Photo by Kerri Phox/The Atlanta VoiceLarry Threadgill sat in the back of the room and took it all in. A community organizer and early voter, Threadgill said he has high expectations for the Harris-Walz administration if they are victorious. “My expectations are more jobs, economic and educational advances, and for racism to be addressed,” Threadgill said. Alexis Bryant is less confident than Holt, Jr. and Threadgill. She has memories of the 2016 election in her head. “To be honest, I feel like we’re in Georgia and you never know what can happen,” she said. “Kamala has done a lot of rallying and advertising in Atlanta, but he has too. I’m hoping for the best.” Rev. Barabar Jones is also hoping for the best. “As Black people, we are trying our best to be hopeful,” she said.
