Berkshire assistant football coach charged with disseminating matter harmful to juveniles

An assistant football coach at Berkshire High School has been arrested and charged with a fifth-degree felony for disseminating material harmful to juveniles after a 17-year-old female student at the high school filed a complaint that said the coach sent her a lewd photo via Snapchat.
According to the complaint filed with Chardon Municipal Court, 35-year-old Nicholas Burzanko of Middlefield is accused of sending a photo to the student which contained an image of his genitalia.
Burzanko allegedly admitted to sending the photo, but said he thought his genitalia was covered up. The image was viewed and it appears a portion was visible and pornography was playing on a television in the background.
According to a post on the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, deputies arrested Burzanko on Oct. 31.
Berkshire Schools issued a statement to the Geauga County Maple Leaf regarding the incident indicating Burzanko was immediately put on leave.
The investigation is active and ongoing., and no further details are being released at this time.
