Man dead, another hurt in Southeast DC double shooting

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Detectives in D.C. are working to learn what led to a double shooting that left a man dead on Sunday night.
The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said that shortly after 10 p.m. on Nov. 3, officers were called to the 2000 block of Savannah Terrace Southeast after gunshots were heard in the area.
Once on the scene, police found a man who had been shot. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Minutes later, a second man was found in the 3300 block of 22 Street. This is just around the corner from Savannah Terrace.
He was taken to the hospital, where he died.
In an update on Monday, police identified the victim as 25-year-old Lorenzo Campbell Jr. of Fort Washington, Maryland.

D.C. police said detectives initially believed the second victim was stabbed, but as the investigation continued, authorities learned he had been shot.
Their investigation also determined that both men were shot in the 2000 block of Savannah Terrace, according to MPD.
