ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The East Irondequoit Central School District said a school bus carrying 10 Aquinas Institute students was hit by a bullet Monday morning. Both East Irondequoit and Aquinas said that no students were hurt. In a statement sent out to families, the district said the bus was driving along Route 104 when two windows were shattered. East Irondequoit and Aquinas said the bus was struck by a bullet, but New York State Police said the bus was hit by a projectile. Principal of The Aquinas Institute, Theodore Mancini, and President David Eustis said in a joint statement that all students on the bus have met with school counselors. "Aquinas is committed to the safety and well-being of all students. We will continue to monitor and support our students throughout today and in the future," the two added.
