(KRON) -- Police in the North Bay are searching for more potential victims after a 60-year-old man was arrested for impersonating police and conducting a traffic stop in a Hyundai Santa Fe with flashing lights, the Windsor Police Department announced Sunday.
On Saturday at around 1:50 a.m., the suspect, identified as Alejandro Garibay, 60, of Windsor, initiated a traffic stop near Brooks Road South and Foothill Drive by displaying red and blue flashing lights resembling police emergency lights, according to Windsor PD. The victim of the traffic stop later told authorities that Garibay said he stopped them for speeding.

Garibay was not wearing a police uniform during the stop, the victim told Windsor PD, and allegedly said he was working undercover. The victim then recorded a video of the suspect’s silver Hyundai Santa Fe as he drove away.

Using the video, Windsor police identified Garibay as the suspect and contacted him at his workplace in Rohnert Park. Garibay admitted to making the traffic stop, police said, and was wearing a “special investigator” shield on his belt.
Garibay was arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Jail for impersonating a police officer.
