SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Freedom Credit Union will be collecting cash donations to help support military service members and their families.
Gas prices in western Massachusetts on the rise
According to Freedom Credit Union, this campaign aims to support the Westover Galaxy Community Council in helping Westover Air Reserve Base families in Chicopee. The council raises funds to help with events and special needs at Westover ARB, which is the largest air reserve base in the nation.
Donations can be made at any of the Freedom Credit Union branches throughout November.
“We salute the service and sacrifices of the brave men and women serving at the Westover Base,” said Freedom Credit Union President Glenn Welch. “Especially with the holidays coming, having loved ones away from home is challenging. We hope our contributions help ease the burden on military families.”
“You don’t have to be a Freedom member,” said Welch. “We feel fortunate to have such a generous community helping us give back to our troops.”
The Westover Galaxy Community Council was formed in 1988 and is made up of veterans, local businesspeople, and others who support the men, women, and mission of Westover ARB.
