NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Widespread precipitation is falling over the Land of Enchantment in the form of rain and accumulating wet snow with relatively chilly air for most with breezy conditions. The storm system responsible for the unsettled weather is parked right over New Mexico, spiraling the clouds, as well as the precipitation, slowly to the east.

Temperatures are mostly ranging from the 20s to the 50s across New Mexico, near normal for this time of the year. As the low pressure system pushes eastward from the morning school commute on into the afternoon with rain, rumbles of thunder, as well as more snow, temperatures will eventually reach into the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, and lower 60s from north to south in lower elevation.
As this trough of low pressure quickly moves through later today and after a calmer but colder start tomorrow afternoon with freezing to sub-freezing morning temperatures more likely for the first time this season in southern areas, conditions will briefly warm up a little bit while drying out later tomorrow, before another strong storm system arrives later this week.
