ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – As the weather gets colder, the City of Albuquerque says a major focus is making sure unhoused people can find shelter in freezing temperatures.

The city highlighted its online dashboard that lists all city-run shelters and available beds. "This is part of the new Gateway Network that we're building that includes not just Gateways, but also the Baird House as you can see on there, and Joy Junction and some others that we work with as part of an integrated system to make sure that everyone has a safe and warm place to stay," Mayor Tim Keller said.
This year, 24/7 emergency drop off will be available at the Gateway, allowing first responders to bring people in at anytime. Albuquerque Fire Rescue says its outside fire response will include offering shelter to those using fires to keep warm, as well as distributing blankets and coats.
