The Santa Fe Police Department and the New Mexico Department of Transportation's Regulation Bureau say one customer reported being charged over $100 from the Santa Fe Airport to downtown, a 14-mile drive. NMDOT says passengers must be able to see what the ride will cost and proper certification numbers deed to be permanently attached to the cars. [2] CABQ sustainable energy rebate - The city of Albuquerque is getting nearly $200,000 from PNM for its use of clean energy in city transit. Officials say that money is going right back into sustainable energy efforts. The city has accepted a $192,000 rebate from PNM through the Transportation Electrification Program that incentivizes the expansion of EV infrastructure. The city says those rebate checks are being reinvested into renewable energy projects in the city. [3] Wet & wintry weather for New Mexico - Precipitation is falling over the Land of Enchantment in the form of rain and accumulating wet snow with relatively chilly air for most with breezy conditions. Conditions will briefly warm up a little bit while drying out later tomorrow, before another strong storm system arrives later this week. [4] AFR to focus on fire control program as days start getting colder - As the temperatures drop, Albuquerque Fire Rescue is bringing back their outside fires program. AFR stated they will have trucks patrolling areas with a high number of outside fires. The department said crews will be required to extinguish all illegal outside fires they encounter but will be equipped with essential winter clothing for those using the fires. [5] Aerospace research company eyeing more expansion in New Mexico - Sceye Aerospace moved to New Mexico nearly eight years ago and has been doing flights out of Roswell since 2021. The company says they have been able to help find methane leaks from oil and gas sites and even provide broadband connectivity to some areas. Recently the company received a multimillion dollar investment they say will help them take things to the next level. As the company continues to grow, they are planning further expansion in New Mexico.
