FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – With the General Election just one day away, polling stations across Kentucky are gearing up for Tuesday’s final in-person voting, open from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. State officials emphasize that any voter in line by 6 p.m. will be allowed to cast their ballot. According to Secretary of State Michael Adams, more than 792,000 Kentuckians have already voted, utilizing absentee ballots and in-person early voting. Adams reports that turnout has been robust, with over 455,000 people voting early on Thursday and Friday, and an additional 200,000 casting their ballots on Saturday, totaling more than 656,000 early votes. In Lexington, Fayette County Clerk Susan Lamb commented on the high early turnout, sharing insights with ABC 36 on what may be expected for Election Day. “If you have to wait an hour today to vote, I bet you will have to wait a lot longer than that on Election Day. I mean, I can only estimate because I don’t think any of us have ever experienced this.” State data from Adams indicates that more than 52% of early voters were Republicans, with 40% identifying as Democrats.
