BURLINGTON, N.C. (WGHP) — A 19-year-old is in critical condition after being shot by a Burlington Police Department officer on Sunday.
At around 1:27 a.m. on Sunday, police say a woman called 911 to report that one of her sons, 19-year-old Logan Blackwood, was "under the influence of drugs and was attempting to kill her other son." Dispatchers could hear a woman screaming in the background during the call.

Officers came to the scene at a mobile home park on the 900 block of Sharpe Road.
Once at the scene, the mother told police that Blackwood was possibly armed with a knife and she was evacuated from the home.
The responding officers established a safety perimeter around the home and spoke with Blackwood in an effort to de-escalate the situation.
Police say that during their de-escalation efforts, Blackwood suddenly exited the home and charged at the officers. Commands were given, however, Blackwood continued to charge at police and attack them.
As a result, investigators say that an officer fired shots at Blackwood and struck him. Aid was immediately provided to the wounded Blackwood and EMS was requested.
Blackwood remains in the hospital and is considered to be in critical condition.
Warrants for Blackwood's arrest are pending for charges of assault on a female, aggravated assault on a handicapped person and assault on a law enforcement officer.
Police say that a man related to Blackwood suffered injuries in the initial assault that prompted the 911 call. That victim was taken to a separate hospital for treatment.
The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation will investigate the officer-involved shooting as is standard protocol and the involved officers have been placed on paid administrative leave.
None of the officers were injured.
