file photo   LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A person who died in a vehicle vs pedestrian incident on I-26 has been identified, says the coroner’s office. The collision happened near the 111 mile-marker of Interstate-26 westbound, in the West Columbia area of Lexington County on Sunday, November 3, around 7:49 p.m. According to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher, Clayton Wesley Barrs, 68, of West Columbia was walking eastbound in the westbound lanes when he was hit by a vehicle traveling westbound on I-26. Barrs was pronounced dead at the scene due to the injuries he received in the collision. The coroner’s office says the driver stopped and remained at the scene. The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol continue are continuing to investigate the incident.
