Fall for Greenville coming soon; organizers need volunteers

GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) – Fall for Greenville begins this week and organizers are urgently seeking volunteers.
“We truly could not do it without our volunteers and they should just really understand how appreciative we are, as well as understanding that this event is possible because of them,” said Anna Catherine Miller.
Fall for Greenville is considered the city’s biggest block party, providing entertainment from food to fun.
People come from all over the country to enjoy everything Greenville has to offer. The city said they’re preparing for thousands to fill Main Street.
Organizers said anyone looking to volunteer will get a t-shirt and two sheets of taste tickets for each shift worked.
“That's new this year! We've increased the incentive so that you can come out and then you can go and enjoy the festival. Those who volunteer four shifts or more get free parking as well,” said Miller.
The city is looking for 600 more volunteers to help make this year’s event a success.
“We need beer servers, wine servers, ticket sellers," Miller said. "We just encourage everyone to sign up to come out. We are excited to be able to give back to the community this year more than we typically do with hurricane relief efforts. We really need the volunteers to help make the event happen so that we can do that.“
Experience isn’t required. Upon signing up, you should receive a link about training videos and parking information.
“All of the shifts are 3 to 4 hours and so it really is a small time commitment to come out, make it happen, and then go and enjoy the festival,” said Miller.
