Baton Rouge man convicted in drug trafficking case sentenced to 260 months

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) -- A Baton Rouge man convicted of drug and gun charges was sentenced to 260 months in prison.
Corey Terrell Gardner, 33, was convicted of conspiracy to distribute and possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl and possession of firearms, according to the United States Department of Justice.
The DOJ said he was considered the organizer and leader of a stash house. Officials said Gardner admitted to operating "a drug distribution organization in the Baton Rouge area where he and others distributed methamphetamine, fentanyl, and heroin" between March and September 2019.
Law enforcement found drugs, guns and ammunition during a search of Gardner's home. DOJ said they located more than "27 ounces of methamphetamine, 2.7 ounces of heroin and 1.6 ounces of fentanyl" along with four guns and 130 rounds of ammunition.
He was not allowed to have guns or ammunition due to being a convicted felon.

According to the DOJ, Gardner will also serve five years of supervised release and was ordered to forfeit any money made from drug trafficking crimes and give up any guns or ammunition that were seized.
The Middle District Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force led the investigation.
