Trial set to begin for two men allegedly connected to 2021 murders in Fall River

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The trial of two Fall River men allegedly connected to two murders in Fall River in 2021 is set to start today.
Jeremy Holmes was indicted on two murder charges, assault and battery with a firearm, a carrying a firearm without a license, and possession of a large capacity firearm.
Two people were killed at Fall River Park after police were called to a shots fired incident.
The victims were identified as 29-year-old Jovaughn Antonio Mills and 14-year-old Miguel Sanjurjo.
There was a third victim who did recover.
Dana Mazyck was also indicted on charges including carrying an illegal firearm, carrying a loaded illegal firearm and unlawful discharge of a firearm within 500 feet of a building.
The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office said moments after that shootings occurred that killed the two victims, Mazyck fired six rounds up Fifth Street with an illegal firearm.
The bullets struck a building, and Mazyck fled on foot.
Both men will face trial in the same court room at 9:00 a.m. at Fall River Superior Court.
