Man charged with involuntary manslaughter after shooting in Woodbridge

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) -- Authorities have charged a 22-year-old man with involuntary manslaughter in connection to a deadly shooting that happened in Woodbridge on Saturday, according to the Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD).
The department said that just after 10:40 p.m., officers responded to a commuter lot located at 2250 Prince William Parkway to investigate a shooting.
There, they found Jeffery Kojo Owusu, 27, of no fixed address, with a gunshot wound to the upper body. Officers provided medical care to Owusu before responders took him to a local hospital, where he later died.

An investigation showed that before the shooting, Christian Geiger, 22, of Vienna, and Owusu were involved in an altercation that escalated. Police said that during the dispute, a struggle developed over a firearm, and Owusu was shot.
Following the shooting, a police K-9 and a Fairfax County police helicopter searched the area for the Geiger, who had left the scene. With the assistance of Fairfax County police, detectives found him at his home in Vienna and arrested him.
Authorities charged Geiger with involuntary manslaughter. He is being held without bond.
