Man driving gokart on Antioch road suffers major injuries after crash: police

(KRON) -- A man driving a go-kart was severely injured after crashing in Antioch Saturday night, the Antioch Police Department said in a press release. A 54-year-old man was driving a go-kart eastbound on N. Lake Drive around 7:56 p.m.
The go-kart was traveling at a high rate of speed, veered off the roadway and crashed into a parked vehicle in a residential neighborhood, according to police. The man was seen unresponsive on the ground after the crash.
Suspect in unprovoked BART stabbing arrested
The driver suffered "major injuries," according to APD. The man was taken to the hospital where, as of Sunday afternoon, he was still being treated.
Antioch police did not announce any crimes or charges against the 54-year-old go-kart driver. The names of the involved parties are not being released at this time, APD said.
