SDSU builds confidence from blowout win over Murray St

BROOKINGS, S.D. (KELO) -- Prior to this week, SDSU faced two of the top five scoring defenses in the country in USD and NDSU. In those games, the Jacks managed just 29 combined points.
The Jackrabbits compiled nearly 600 yards of offense en route to a 52-6 win over Murray State Saturday. The Jacks outgained the Racers by more than 200 yards on the ground and more than 100 yards through the air, while keeping the visitors out of the endzone.
State points to its execution coming through in both practice and this game following those two top-five meetings.
"It was a physical couple of weeks, and it was very close game, so it was just definitely a good confidence booster for our entire team," SDSU junior safety Tucker Large said. "It was good to have the offensive guys get as many yards as they had, and it was good to get some of the young guys in there on defense and fly around and have fun and be themselves."
"Each week we improve dramatically on that especially," SDSU freshman wide receiver Lofton O'Groske said. "We work on it every practice. So yeah, I know once we get it all together, we'll just be unstoppable."
The Jacks hit the road for a ranked matchup at North Dakota next week.
