Town of Penfield sets aside $9.5M for Clark House project

PENFIELD, N.Y. (WROC) — Thursday, the town of Penfield announced its adopted 2025 budget. One of the highlighted items included a 2025 capital program for the Clark House.
In the capital improvement plan, the town set aside $9.5 million for the project. The planning and work could cost less.
Clark House: Penfield proposes to make Shadow Pines building into event space
The town looks to rehab the historic building, and make and addition; all to turn the former golf course centerpiece into a new year-round lodge for rent.
More details on the project are expected before the end of the year.
Back in 2018, the town of Penfield acquired the Shadow Pines lot, a former 212-acre golf course from the company Dolomite. The course closed two years prior.

Along with the land, was the historic Clark House, which has been vacant for years. The building used to be a golf shop, pro shop, (and) restaurant.
Part of this event space proposal includes renderings from Bergman Architects, and to preserve the historic part of the building.
Last month, the town opened its outdoor recreation facilities at the north end of the former Shadow Pines, which included 10 pickleball courts.
