Photos by Michael Gonzales/NBAE via Getty Images CP3 has made an impression on the fans who once reviled him Chris Paul has not been in San Antonio for long, but he has already made an impression. CP3, the “point god,” is turning San Antonio into another lob town as he ignites Victor Wembanyama’s ability to throw down at the rim. So far, Paul has been memorialized in not one, but two different murals, a San Antonio tradition. The first went up at the 7-11 on San Pedro and Cypress Street last summer almost immediately after the acquisition of Paul made the news. The other, created by artist Rah Pacasso, features Paul with Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and Victor Wembanyama. Paul’s response upon hearing there were murals in his likeness, “Did not know two murals. I know of one. I saw it on social media this summer, which I’m grateful for.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by San Antonio Spurs (@spurs) Paul expanded, “The fans have been amazing fans, even when I played on other teams right even back to playoffs. Even though they root against you, the fans here have always been gracious. Just genuine basketball fans.” The new CP3 mural, featuring Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and Victor Wembanyama is located at J’s Barber and Beauty Shop at 801 Mel Waiters Way. You can catch it while heading down Houston from downtown to the Frost Bank Center. Previously there was a different mural there, also painted by Pacasso. Welcome to The Thread.
