Clear skies and calmer winds overnight will send temperatures tumbling into the 30s and 40s, leading us into a much more seasonal first weekend of November. High pressure will settle in and give us plenty of sunshine on Saturday and Sunday, but high temperatures will only reach the low to mid-60s. Overnight temperatures will remain chilly, in the 30s and 40s through Sunday night. Heading into next week, a warm front will lift across the DMV, but the storm system producing it will stay well west of us. This means it will continue to be dry, but temperatures will rise on Monday and Tuesday. Highs will go from the 60s into the upper 70s by Election Day under partly cloudy skies. We'll even feel the warmth at night again, with lows only falling into the 50s and 60s on Tuesday night. After a few days of steadily warming up and increasing the moisture in the air, rain chances will return to the forecast next Wednesday and Thursday. Measurable rain that would end our dry stretch is not a guarantee yet, but unlike the cold front we just had, this looks like a better opportunity to end this dry stretch finally.
