HONOLULU (KHON2) -- It's the final weekend before Election Day. Both the local Democratic and Republican parties are making their final push. Both sides say no matter who you choose, it's critical to get out and vote. Going into the last weekend, both the Hawaii Democratic and Republican parties are also full speed ahead. "Well we have everybody who is really involved from doing phone banking for President Rrump's campaign along with a lot of people doing rallying and door knocking and really pushing the get out the vote effort," said Tamara McKay, Hawaii Republican Party chair. "I think that Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are out there because they're gonna be a president and vice president for the people," said Phil Roque, Democratic Party of Hawaii executive director. "I guess for unity to make sure this country is together and behind something." 20-inch water main break heavily impacts Waimanalo community Both sides bring up the issues - cost of living, marriage equality, the economy, abortion, and crime and say if you want change, go out and vote. "We need to get our voters out there here in the state, and also nationally, to show that, this kind of stuff isn't okay and we're gonna get out there, we're gonna vote," said Roque. "We're gonna make sure we get people who've never voted before out there, voting for the first time. Out there getting registered for the first time." Starting Monday, the FBI in Honolulu is opening a 24-hour election command post. They say it is standard operating procedure during election time to investigate any election related threats or fraud. The FBI encourages anyone to report any allegations to its office directly at 808-566-4300.
