Results from the first round of the OHSAA football playoffs on Nov. 1: • Walsh Jesuit 42, South 0: Rebels’ season ends at 3-8. • Austintown-Fitch 31, Mayfield 7: Wildcats’ season ends at 5-6. • Green 35, Riverside 14: The Beavers’ season ends at 4-7. • Benedictine 35, Tiffin Columbian 7: Bengals (9-2) will play Defiance in the second round. • VASJ 52, Hawken 21: Vikings (8-2) will play Ursuline in the second round. The Hawks’ season ends at 8-3. • Gilmour 45, Akron East 12: The Lancers (10-1) advance to play Kenston in the second round. • Maple Heights 16, Kenston 7: The Bombers’ season ends at  7-3. Maple Heights next plays Gilmour in Round 2. • CVCA 45, University 14: The Preppers’ season ends at 5-6. • Perry 42, Akron Buchtel 6: The Pirates (10-1) next play host to Struthers in the next round. • Glenville 47, NDCL 20: The Lions’ season ends at 5-6. • Berkshire 24, Chagrin Falls 16: The Badgers (8-3) will next play Manchester in Round 2. The Tigers’ season ends at 6-5. • Kirtland 62, Rootstown 0: The Hornets (11-0) advance to host Smithville in the next round. • Toronto 33, Wickliffe 31: The Blue Devils’ season ends at 7-4. • Jeromesville Hillsdale 55, Fairport 12: Skippers end their season at 5-5.
