WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - The Salvation Army officially kicked off the 2024 Red Kettle Christmas Campaign at Wichita's Naftzger Park Friday afternoon. Those who attended the event enjoyed live reindeer, Mr. and Mrs. Claus, hot chocolate, coffee, sweet treats, and live Christmas music from local school bands. The Salvation Army says the campaign is important to meet the increasing needs of community families. The campaign provides Christmas gifts, food, utility assistance, and more. Teen dead, another critically injured after shooting in east Wichita Red buckets will be placed across retailers in the city to collect donations.
