Sedgwick County election machines pass inspection
Nov 01, 2024
WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) -- Election officials say the machines that count election ballots are running as they should in Sedgwick County. Officials tested the tabulators Friday morning.
They ran test ballots through them to make sure the machines' counts matched the expected outcome, and they did. The public was invited to watch the test.
"It's great for the public to see because they have questions," Brad Beets, Sedgwick County chief deputy election commissioner, said. "They don't know all the things that happen behind the scenes to make the election work and how that process works. This is a good way for the public to see exactly how your vote is counted, how it's tabulated, how that process works."

He said election workers tested all machines in the county a month and a half ago, so this test was primarily for the public, but it is required by state law.
