Wallmounted entertainment centers recalled due to fall hazard
Nov 01, 2024
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — More than 46,000 wall-mounted entertainment centers have been recalled because they could fall if not installed properly.
The recall involves the Manhattan Comfort Cabrini 1.8, Cabrini 2.2, City 1.8, City 2.2, and Utopia Wall Mounted Floating Theater Entertainment Centers, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
If the entertainment center is attached to drywall without toggle bolts, the panels can detach and fall, posing a risk of injury. Additionally, if the bottom panel is attached to any wall surface without the safety screw that's included, the panel can detach and fall.
The CPSC says the firm has received 51 reports of the panels detaching, three of which resulted in minor injuries.

The products were sold online from March 2015 through March 2024 by various retailers: Wayfair, The Home Depot, Target, ShopHQ, Walmart, Overstock, Macy's, Lowes, ATG Stores, Unbeatable Sales, JET, Bed Bath & Beyond, Dropship Central, 123 Stores, OJ Commerce, Hayneedle, Cymax and Houzz.
Customers should clear the space beneath the entertainment center and stay away from it, then contact Manhattan Comfort. If the center and panels are attached to drywall without toggle bolts, customers will be sent toggle bolts and instructions on how to remove the center and reinstall it. If the bottom panel was installed without the safety screw, customers will be provided with a replacement and instructions on how to apply it.
