WESTPORT, Mass. (WPRI) — A female humpback whale washed ashore in Westport on Thursday. The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) said the marine mammal was previously seen in poor condition before being spotted dead in the water on Monday. Scientists with IFAW performed a necropsy before burying the whale on site.
