Renaissance Festival 2024 opens Nov. 2 in Hammond

HAMMOND, La. (WGNO) — All ye far and wide are invited to the Louisiana Renaissance Festival as it returns to Hammond.
During the weekends between November and December, lords and ladies can venture into the forest to immerse themselves in a recreation of the Renaissance period.

The festival happens every fall in the English village of Albright, with over 600 artisans, entertainers and demonstrations allowing for a fun 16th-century experience.
Part of the experience, are the themes set for each weekend:
Saturday, Nov. 2 and Sunday, Nov. 3 — Romance and Masquerade
Saturday, Nov. 9 and Sunday, Nov. 10 — Viking
Saturday, Nov. 16 and Sunday, Nov. 17 — Celtic
Saturday, Nov. 23 and Sunday, Nov. 24 — Myths and Magic
Sunday, Nov. 29, Monday, Nov. 30 and Monday, Dec. 1 — Pirate
Saturday, Dec. 7 and Sunday, Dec. 8 — Fireworks Finale
Queen Elizabeth stopped by the WGNO studio to proclaim all activities to partake in.
"In addition to having many of our favorite returning entertainments, we also have a whole host of new things that can be fun on each and every one of our stages," said Her Majesty. "We have turkey legs, we have Jamaican food this year, we have roasted flavored nuts and all kinds of things to enjoy."

The gates will open at the cannon's first blow at 9:45 a.m. and close at 5 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased at the Louisiana Renaissance Festival website.
WGNO will be in the Village of Albright, showcasing the sights, sounds, tastes and fun.
