FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) -- Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating after reports of a shooting on Oxford Street on Fort Wayne's southeast side. Dispatch confirmed with WANE 15 that police were investigating at the intersection of Oxford Street and Euclid Avenue after receiving calls of a shooting. An officer at the scene told WANE 15 that a man was cleaning his gun when it accidentally went off, shooting him in the foot. A friend of the man was driving him to the hospital when he crashed into a fire hydrant. The man was taken to the hospital by EMS after the crash. The incident continues to be under investigation.
