CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A second teenager has been charged in connection to the murder of 18-year-old Zackay Rieken, who was shot and killed inside a vehicle in south Charlotte. On Friday, police located and arrested 18-year-old Smajie Johnson for his involvement in the shooting. He was placed in the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office and charged with murder and shooting into an occupied property. Earlier this week on Tuesday, police arrested a 17-year-old suspect in connection to the shooting. The juvenile is facing the same charges. Around midnight on Saturday, October 26th, officers responded to James Blakeney Avenue near Rea Road in regards to a shooting. When police arrived, they found a Rieken in a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Medic. This incident is under an active investigation.
