LSU women's team places seventh, men's team finishes 14th at SEC Cross Country Championships

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The LSU women's and men's cross-country teams competed in the SEC Cross Country Championships at Watts XC Course in College Station, Texas on Friday, Nov. 1.
The women's team finished in seventh place with a team score of 213, while the men's team finished in 14th place with a team score of 396, according to LSU Athletics.
Senior Lorena Rangel Batres finished her final championship in eighth place in the 6K race. She finished the race at 19:30.5, which was a personal record. According to LSU Athletics, her eighth-place finish made her an All-SEC Second team member. Junior Michaela Rose also posted a personal record with a time of 19:55.2.
Junior Ella Chestnut finished in 26th place with a time of 19:57.8. According to LSU Athletics, senior Callie Hardy and senior Gwyneth Hughes finished in the fourth and fifth scoring positions for the Tigers.

On the men's side, freshman Emedy Kiplimo was the first Tiger to cross the finish line with a time of 24:18.9. According to LSU Athletics, Hugh Carlson, Tyler Stevens, Casey Goetschel and Dyllon Nimmers closed out the final four positions for LSU.
LSU will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 15 for the NCAA South Central Regional.
