Looking for something to do on Election Night instead of biting your nails and driving your family to the brink by yelling (or crying) at the political forecasters on TV? Reginald F. Lewis Museum and Urban One has you covered!The Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African American History and Culture is partnering with Urban One, the nation’s largest Black-owned media company, to host an Election Night Viewing Party on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024, from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. at the museum. This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required in advance.Like the Reginald F. Lewis Museum, Urban One has deep Baltimore Roots. Founded by media pioneer Cathy Hughes in 1980, Urban One has become a leading force in Black media across television, radio, and digital platforms. It continues to uplift and amplify Black voices across the country. Local stations include: 92Q Jams, Magic 95.9, Spirit 1400, WOLB 1010 AM, and Praise 106.1.Attendees can watch the election returns with friends, neighbors, and Baltimore family in a lively and engaging atmosphere, surrounded by Black art, history, and culture. Visitors can explore the museum’s galleries throughout the evening in a setting where civic engagement meets cultural heritage.Black-owned food and beverage vendors will be on-site with samples and selling their delicious wares. The evening will be a celebration of democracy in a communal space. Attendees can come together to share in the experience of Election Night and support local Black-owned businesses at the same time.“We are thrilled to partner with Urban One for this important event,” said Terri Freeman, President of the Reginald F.
