Save a dog from being euthanized, adoption fees waived at Bakersfield Animal Care Center

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- There's still time to adopt a dog for no fee at the Bakersfield Animal Care Center, until Saturday.
BACC has been holding a no-kill this week to honor the 1,900 dogs that have been euthanized this year.

Even with the special adoption event, 38 dogs remain on the list to be euthanized if they do not find their forever homes by Saturday, according to the shelter.
"It's very rare that we can go a whole entire week without euthanizing, usually we're euthanizing anywhere from 50 to 100 dogs a week. On average, 200 to 250 a month," said BACC Animal Behaviorist, Josh Proctor. "We'd like to honor those dogs because they're all good dogs, they're all well deserving dogs and they all deserved to live."
