DUI driver arrested with narcotics for sale: Petaluma PD

(KRON) -- A 20-year-old Sonoma resident was arrested Thursday evening after Petaluma police said he was driving under the influence of drugs and had narcotics in his possession for sale.
Officers with the Petaluma Police Department responded just before 6 p.m. to a report of an intoxicated driver erratically driving in the area of East Washington Street and Sonoma Mountain Parkway. The suspected driver, identified as Cesar Godinez, 20, of Sonoma, was contacted by officers in the parking lot of a gas station at North McDowell Boulevard and E. Washington St.

Godinez displayed “objective signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance,” police said.
A search of the vehicle uncovered a “large amount” of suspected Xanax, marijuana, cash, a replica firearm and a ski mask, according to Petaluma PD.

Godinez was arrested and booked into the Sonoma County jail for driving under the influence of drugs, violation of a court order, possession of narcotics for sale and possession of marijuana for sale. The vehicle was later impounded from the scene.
