Topekan arrested after Halloween standoff incident

TOPEKA (KSNT) - Topeka police have arrested an individual following a Thursday night standoff incident.
Officers with the Topeka Police Department (TPD) received a call for an accident investigation around 5 p.m. on Oct. 31 near the Stormont Vail Events Center that later led them to the 1500 block of Southwest Shunga Drive. While officers were in the area continuing their investigation an individual fired shots from inside a nearby home.

LT. E. Stanley with the Topeka Police Department said, as a result of the investigation, a 57-year-old man from Topeka was taken to the Shawnee County Department of Corrections for the following charges:
Aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer.
Criminal threat.
Battery.
Duty of driver to report an accident.
Interference with a law enforcement officer.
