CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - It's your last chance to cast your vote early in person for the upcoming election, and most early voting polls will close by 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
Massachusetts lawmakers call for permanent Daylight Saving Time
Early voting is a convenient option for voters who want to get their vote out of the way ahead of election day. Polls have been available in each Massachusetts town since October 19, giving voters two weeks to get to the polls.
As of yesterday, the Secretary of State's office said over 1.5 million people had already voted five days before election day, that's 29.6 percent of registered voters in Massachusetts.
Holyoke City Clerk Brenna Murphy Leary told 22News that early voting in the City of Holyoke was very successful.
"This was probably the busiest early in-person voting we've ever seen, we've probably had around 1,100 people come through to vote. People started coming right when we opened as well and I anticipate today to be one of the busiest days," said Leary.
In-person early voting continues through the afternoon, but if you miss it, your other options are mailing in your ballot or voting in person on Election Day.
The deadline to request a mail-in ballot was October 29, and all completed ballots must be postmarked by November 5 to be counted. You can also turn your ballot in at a drop-off location in your community.
