PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — An attorney retained by the state of Rhode Island for its litigation against companies that provided design, construction and inspection services related to the Washington Bridge has withdrawn from the case.
According to the office of Attorney General Peter F. Neronha, Max Wistow will no longer be a part of the state’s legal team in the matter due to professional reasons.
The law firm Cohen Milstein Sellers and Toll will now join the litigation, alongside Savage Law Partners, to represent the state.
“Cohen Milstein has an extensive track record, which includes successfully navigating complex, high-profile matters, such as the landmark Flint, Michigan Water Contamination litigation,” said Tim Rondeau, Director of Communications.
13 companies were named in the state’s lawsuit related to the state of the Washington Bridge, the westbound side of which has been closed since December 11, 2023 due to the detection of severe structure issues.
