JAMESTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) — The motorcyclist involved in a crash on the Jamestown Verrazzano Bridge Thursday afternoon has died, according to Rhode Island State Police. Troopers were called to the eastbound side of the bridge around 3:30 p.m. for reports of a crash involving a motorcycle. An investigation revealed Jonathan W. Hopkins, 34, of South Kingstown, rear-ended a van while weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed. He was rushed to Newport Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, state police said.
