Rhode Island FC to play Indy Eleven in USL Championship Quarterfinals

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — Rhode Island FC is heading to Indianapolis this weekend for its first-ever playoff match in its historic inaugural season.
After a record-breaking 8-1 victory against Miami FC, Rhode Island finished fifth place in the USL Championship Group East.
The team now takes on Indy Eleven at 1 p.m. Sunday in the single-elimination Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.
RIFC faced Indy twice this season, tying them 3-3 at home and losing 1-0 in Indianapolis.
Rhode Island is unbeaten in its last six matches heading into the postseason, with its last loss coming on Sept. 14.
As the regular season wrapped up, the team announced its end-of-season player awards:
Noah Fuson - Player of the Year
Clay Holstad - Midfielder of the Year
Karifa Yao - Defensive Player of the Year
Nate Silveira - Anchored in Community Award
