NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — WGNO's LBJ has sat down with some of the area's top elected leaders to find-out what a Donal Trump or Kamala Harris win could mean for the state pf Louisiana.
He previously sat down with House Majority Leader Steve Scalise and is now sitting with Louisiana's Second District Congressman Troy Carter.
"The Kamala Harris Tim Walz ticket is a ticket for America and no withstanding your ideological views, your philosophical views to really demonstrate this administration sees an opportunity for the American do over," said Carter.

In a state that relies heavily on our energy production for the rest of the nation, Carter says there's a smarter way for us to do that as well.
"We have to recognize the strength of Louisiana of our position of our global preserve. We also have to recognize that we get one earth so we have to be ever vigilant in our attempts to build greener cleaner ways of energizing our country," said Carter.
Among the biggest issues that democrats have embraced is a woman's right to choose in the wake of the Supreme Court's decision to dismantle Roe v. Wade.
"Reproductive freedom is something that should be determined by a woman, her doctor and her family, not by a legislative body," said Carter.

In the end, Carter see the democratic ticket as one that is good for the state.
"It's going to be a president that will pick up from where the previous president was in the area of fighting against environmental injustice, investing in families, investing in children, investing in education. Recognizing the value of our culture, our history, and our community. I think a Harris/Walz presidency will bode well for Louisiana and for America.," said Carter.
