MS man sentenced for shooting in 'drug deal gone wrong'

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A Horn Lake, Mississippi man was sentenced to 40 years after being convicted for a shooting in a "drug deal gone wrong" last year in Olive Branch.
In September, 20-year-old Brandon Brinkley was convicted of attempted first-degree murder, armed robbery, and conspiracy to commit armed robbery after a three-day trial.

"I made a promise to protect this community, and this guilty verdict and sentence is just one step toward fulfilling that commitment," said District Attorney Matthew Barton.
