Halloween costumes, candy and warm night of trickortreating

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A beautiful Thursday night meant for a good time for those trick-or-treating across Monroe County.
Today is Rochester’s warmest Halloween in 50+ years
News 8's Gio Battaglia caught up with a few. We saw just about every costume while kids and their families were out. One thing, however, remained top of mind.
Gio: What is some candy you guys are after this year?
"Skittles." "Twix!" "Hershey bars."
We stopped by the area of Parr Circle in Rochester. The houses on these streets were decked out in spooky decor. And as for the costumes...
"I'm Bluey!" "I'm dressed up as a zombie cheerleader" "We're Alvin and the Chipmunks."
Blake and her best friends dressed up as the Alvin and the Chipmunks before, and said Thursday was the start of what will become a tradition.

"It's been really good. For my first time trick-or-treating, it's been very good getting candy and stuff," Blake said. "We were a trio, and best friends, since we were babies."
Two scream queens we ran into spent months bedazzling their masks, and said that preparation taps into the true spirit of Halloween.
"We just went over to my house, bedazzled [the masks], we saw it on Pinterest. We collaborated on this a few months before Halloween," they said. "Dressing up and being able to go to other people's houses and seeing everybody's costumes, I really like it."
