Nov 01, 2024
CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - A Red Flag Warning has been issued for high brush fire danger on Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. for all of western Massachusetts.
A look at November weather in Massachusetts
There will be some scattered showers during the morning commute. The rain will be done by 10 am. We'll quickly clear to mostly sunny by noon. A strong dry wind will also quickly develop by noon.
With the dry air, strong winds, and sunshine, brush fire danger will be very high on Friday. Do not burn outside. High temperatures will be in the mid-70s. Our high temperature will come in the early afternoon. The air will cool fairly quickly in the afternoon.
Friday night will have passing clouds with lows in the 30s and 40s.
We fall into the 50s on Saturday and Sunday.
A Red Flag Warning is the highest level of caution issued by the National Weather Service and is issued when dry conditions meet high wind speeds. This means that critical fire weather conditions are occurring, and any fires that start may spread rapidly and become difficult to extinguish.
