RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Saturday, Nov. 2 is the last day for in-person early voting in Virginia. Virginians haven’t voted early as much this election cycle as they did in the 2020 presidential election. Early voting started out strong this year compared to in 2020, but the momentum has slowed down in the past few weeks.   Early voting by mail and in-person started on Sept. 20. According to the Virginia Public Access Project, more than 106,000 Virginians cast their vote in the first two days. That’s a 38% increase from the first two days of early voting in 2020.   But, more than 1.8 million Virginians had voted as of Wednesday, Oct. 30. That's down from the 2.3 million people who voted early at the same point in 2020.   The biggest day for early voting this year was actually this past Monday, Oct. 28, with over 110,000 votes counted by mail and in person  Make sure to check the Virginia Department of Elections’ website to see which polling locations will be open Saturday. If you can’t get your vote done in person by Saturday, there's still Election Day. And if you aren’t registered to vote, you can still same-day register and cast a provisional ballot.
