Weather Alert: Red flag warning today with near record warmth

WEATHER ALERT: A RED FLAG WARNING has been issued for today. Dry and windy conditions today will allow any fires to spread quickly. Please...no outdoor burning and please be careful when discarding smoking materials.
Good morning! Happy November. I had you had a nice Halloween. We've got big weather changes ahead over the next 24 hours. Today, we'll have near record warmth, then it will get much cooler as we head into the weekend. We'll take a look back at October below, too.
A Red Flag Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service due to the dry brush and the gusty winds and dry air that will develop. This means that any brush fires that do develop could spread quickly today. Our message is the same...no outdoor burning and please be careful how you discard smoking materials.
Winds will pick up late morning and early afternooon with some gusts to 30mph.

We'll have a few showers around this morning as a cold front approaches the area, then partly to mostly sunny in the afternoon.

We'll have near record warmth this afternoon with highs in the mid to upper 70s.
The record for the date is 78 set in 1974...we definitely could tie or break that record.

High school football this evening will be breezy, dry and mild with temperatures falling back through the 70s and 60s.
Late night lows will be much cooler....low 40s.
TOMORROW
Much more seasonable...more November-like for Saturday. Afternoon highs will be in the mid to upper 50s.
LOOKING AHEAD
Don't forget...we set the clocks back one hour late Saturday night as we move back to Eastern Standard Time. Sunday will be cool and dry, too, with highs in the 50s.
Big day on Tuesday....Election Day. No weather excuses this year....it looks mild and dry with a mix of sun and clouds.
