HONOLULU (KHON2) -- Fairly typical trade wind weather is expected through this weekend with sunshine and windward showers. No heavy rain is expected through Sunday. Next week, moisture from the tropics and a weakening cold front could bring numerous showers to the islands from Tuesday through Friday. Weekend Forecast: Winds will weaken and shift to east-southeasterly. Shower activity will decrease. Midweek Outlook: A cold front will approach from the northwest. This could bring rain, thunderstorms, and possibly snow on Big Island summits. The exact timing, intensity, and coverage of these conditions are still uncertain. Note: The forecast for Monday onwards is based on a blend of different models and has been adjusted to reflect the potential for winter weather on the Big Island.
