The University of Hawaii soccer team defeated Long Beach State 1-0 on Thursday night at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium, improving to 12-7-1 overall and closing out Big West play at 8-1-1.
Meanwhile, Long Beach State dropped to 6-9-3.

Both teams entered Thursday's contest with their respective fates already sealed. Hawaii had clinched the top seed in the Big West tournament, while Long Beach State was eliminated from contention.
Tatum Porter with seven seconds remaining in the first half, giving the Rainbow Wahine a 1-0 lead that held up for the rest of the contest.
Hawaii will face an opponent to be determined in the Big West semifinals on Thursday at 7 p.m. HST.
