OSAGE CITY (KSNT) - Former local high school pitcher Blake Treinen is now a two-time World Series champion.
Winning the World Series is nearly every baseball player's dream. Treinen has now done it twice, as he recorded seven clutch outs late in Game 5 to help the Dodgers beat the Yankees to win the World Series.

“We’re just glad that it’s over and they did win so now they can have some time with the family and enjoy,” Blake's grandmother Mary Treinen said.
After leaving Osage City to pursue baseball, Treinen worked his way up the charts. From college to the minors and eventually the MLB where he's pitched for multiple teams. In the last four years as a Dodger, he's played in more than 150 games.
“He was so involved in doing what he wanted to do with baseball and his schooling because that was important to him," Mary said. "He’s worked hard to get where he’s at.”
Treinen's grandparents Gene and Mary still live in the area. They and the community continue to cheer him on from halfway across the country.
Dodgers’ World Series-ending win averages 18.6 million; series averages 15.81 million for 5 games
“They all know Blake very well," Mary said. "We’ve got banners hanging up in town and Blake did come back at Christmas I think two years ago and they had a thing for him at the senior center.”
