TOPEKA (KSNT) - Topeka Police urge residents to avoid a part South Topeka. The Topeka Police Department (TPD) announced in a news release Oct. 31 officers responded to an accident investigation around 5 p.m. Thursday new the Expocentre. During the investigation, officers were led to the 1500 block of Southwest Shunga Drive. This is where one individual from the accident was located in a house. While officers were in the area continuing their investigation, an individual fired shots from inside the home. No TPD officers were injured. Officers are currently working an incident in the area Southwest Washburn Avenue from 24th Street to Shunga Drive.
